What is the best way for me to short the market and not worry about decay?

I cashed out 1/3rd of my portfolio today. Should I store it in $GLD if I want to hedge against a crash but have it easily accessible?

Does anyone happen to know what the tax brackets are for someone Married filing separately? I can't figure out it I still get capital gains tax at the Married rate in general or if there is a separate rate for separate filling.

Okay, I will move it over to my Brokerage Fund then if that is what the majority here believes will be safer.

Just inherited a 100K life insurance policy which I can cash out for 16K or keep. Do you guys think I should go ahead and cash out so that I can manage that 16k myself and grow it?
