>The little cottage was perfect for us. The fire in the living room was already lit as we entered, snowfall gathering on the windows as the light snow continued. I set little Marina down on one of the couches before I closed the door behind me, breathing a sigh of relief. All our struggles, all our running. Finally over, tucked away in a sleepy little french village in the countryside. No more scrounging for silver and caches of money, no more gendarme breathing down our necks. No one would find us here. No one would disturb our love, interfere with our growing family. We would live as husband and wife, tucked away in the woods.
