The universities are the prime movers in this "whites are evil and need to be replaced" narrative. They teach the students this nonsense who believe it fully due to not only the trust they have in the establishment, but the social pressure from peers. Those people graduate and start getting jobs in HR and in government. What we see is these anti-white ideas coalescing into real, actionable policy. The result of these is state-sponsored discrimination against whites -- the thing the minority race warriors think is (but isn't really) happening to them.

In other words, the people on /pol/ don't believe the same things the lefties do. The race war agenda (filled with lies about whites oppressing minorities) has led to an ACTUAL race war wherein whites oppress themselves, and slowly elevate minorities into the role of de facto oppressor. This is what /pol/ is reacting to.

Horseshoe theory is a smoothbrain attempt to relativize extreme positions. There is only one reality, and it doesn't "lie somewhere in the middle."
