Bros I couldn't handle it, I just had to ask for more work to do. They gave me some tickets that I got done in about 20 minutes, it's the only work I've done since Wednesday. I think my boss isn't doing HIS work, since he's so late in assigning me things.

At least it's gotten me to start working out again.

Any anons have insight on whether it'd be worth going into middle management? I'm currently in a technical position, but the career ceiling for that is lower and I'd be stuck doing the same thing for 30 years.

I don't have any, really. I sort of want to become a lead engineer then switch into management, but I'd be fine if I spent the next 20 years as a generic senior engineer with no real responsibility outside of my small bubble. The money will be good either way.

I have a vague idea of becoming a foreign correspondent journalist or a host for some NPR program, but that's probably another case of the fantasy being more attractive than the reality.

How much should I save before I quit being a wageslave? Not necessarily to quit all jobs forever, but to pivot to something I might find more fulfilling.

Current goal is at least 1mil, which seems reasonable before 35 in my current job (assuming the market doesn't implode).

If there is any comfort to you, I had the same thing happened with QURE. But investors were enthusiastic and after some small dips, the bullrun resumed.

Interestingly, GILD is part of the offering (50M$) which add more fuel to the viabiity of SGMO's tech
