For me, the real question is why ever retire? If I die in my cubicle, someone will clean it up. We can save for retirement, but we don't need to worry about it. The end will come eventually. Live in the moment, frens.

I usually work with a recruiter and they do the follow-up calls for me. They found me more money too. Only downside is they bug me every 2 years or so asking if I want a new job, but I prefer stability. I think 5-6 years is a healthy tenure.

Can someone please explain to me how microsoft is the darling child stock to the market makers on wall street? I see a headline this morning on activision blizzard not wanting to sell to microsoft and their stock gets heemed and mid day its microsoft earnings being praised. Their main software has been ass for a long time, skype lost to zoom, they cant make a phone OS, they did nothing anyone cares about with linux, you have other cloud tech giants with fairer valuations like IBM, as much people care about bing and AI like they do with twitter. My phizer stock I bought with fairer valuation after the covid pump around 40 is still dropping but god forbid microsoft has a bad quarter. Who in the fuck whale is exit rugging their microsoft stock?

All things considered interest rates can go up further from here, they will go up for sure but its safe to say they will go up slower and taper off. We have to circle back to fundamentals team. REIT investments will take a continued hammering, the government guys keep pushing off recession talk but we ran the numbers and sometime around Q3 2022 its very safe to say we hit the recession part of the market cycle despite the talk at the federal reserve. Unlike past patterns of shorter recession periods I am sure and the board members I talked with agreed we have an extended recession period this time around. That price action with JNJ we've been seeing is a sign the pivot into health stocks has begun, we shouldn't be weighing investments into our portfolios into that sector now as heavily, jim I need that report on undervalued megacap health stocks by the end of the week. I suggest we consider building materials sector stocks. Construction booms tend to hit a stride towards the middle parts of the market cycle and we want to get in early, the "meme" stock gamblers we saw over in gamestop and AMC wont touch these boring stocks so we should be safe from volatility, valuations should be unbiased. I want to see those consumer discretionary picks from the last meeting be put on hold until jerome keeps rates stable or drops for more then four consecutive quarters. As for tech stocks with an emphasis on AI, sell it, sell it all today. The nasdaq will pivot hard when markets come alive again later this year.

What do you guys think of newell brands? They are a consumer discretionary that obviously did bad in last few years but have quality brands like quickie, sharpie, coleman, elmer glue, rubbermaid. I think the coming years will be a great time to accumulate while its beat down but I'm not sure with whales like carl icahn buying that it will be mitt romney'd. I'm sure they are just itching real hard to shut it down and make us buy glue or storage goods from some chinese startup called "xinjiboofuucahminh" or something like that from some chinese junk shop with no customer service or quality like amazon. Value trap? Not sure. Maybe its better to stick to big tobacco for now. People will always want big brand poison inhalents.
