Anyways its only about 1 year of savings I recently got a good job and am finally making some decent money which is why cash has been piling up so I'm looking to do something other than leaving it to rot in my checking account.

Thank you I'll look into portfolio theory but from my understanding bonds are just safer but slower growing and since I don't plan to pull any money out for at least 5 years and probably more like 10 I seem to better off with stocks? Or maybe I'm just retarded.
