Bong vet here OP, left a few years ago after my minimum service.
Go RLC, infantry and other trades make fun of you but you unironically are more qualified than them and they all re-trade eventually to logistics for the quals for when they get out.
Bear in mind the army is temporary so get a job with real transferable skills, don’t listen to bluff use common sense (think niche skills or trade)
Guard duty will happen very often and it’s horrible.
Cheap rent, no bills, great friends but behave yourself with the drink because it just isn’t worth the hassle from troop staff, all they want is you to be in the right place, right time, right kit… it’s that easy.
