It would take the dev team to give up and scrub the entire project for it to really die. So far, they have a roadmap laid out for the future of Lunc, and as long as they're committed to working on it, there is potential for it to be successful.

What people need to ask themselves is, what made Luna 1.0 successful? As much as people hate to hear the word, it was it's utility. That's exactly what the devs are working to restore right now.
