Is that a bad thing?
Like you, I have avoided stuff for this reason eg BTC, Apple, Tesla, and CLF kek
Pretty much every time I have used that as reasoning it hasnt worked out.
When does any stock have a base like that and it ends poorly? Seriously I’m asking I can’t think of any.

what are you talking about. if i have 100 shares of apple at an average of $105 i can write a covered call on them for the end of the week for a strike of $115 and collect say $35 in premium instantly. after that, the only way i lose in this exchange is if
>the stock price rises above the strike price and my shares are sold at $115 (big profit for me, but i dont keep my shares)
>the stock price rises above the strike price but i buy to close the option, for the larger premium (ie not wanting to lose your shares)
however, unless the stock shoots up right after you sell the call, theres a decent chance that 4 days in to a weekly call, the time decay (theta) will decrease the price of the option enough that buying to close isnt that expensive anymore. AND you shouldnt employ this strategy on stocks you arent okay selling at a profit anyway

>stock goes above strike, keep premium (Free money) and sell at profit
>stock stays below strike, keep premium (Free money) and keep shares, then repeat next week
almost fool proof
