before i lost my job i was able to save $1k and still pay $2k on my mortgage, which is double the minimum. it was a job that was guaranteed for the next 5 years but unfortunately the contractor didn't hold their end of the deal and my company had to walk away. there's talks of negotiating a new contract but nothing will be set in stone until march, so i've got to find work elsewhere.
