institutions aren't buying link to hold it, they buy it because they need to buy it to utilize chainlink services, which is flat fees regardless of the price of the token anyways. A big institution buying for staking down the line would just get it direct from sirgay, not the open market

I've been thinking about this situation a lot and honestly it shifted my worldview a bit. he literally genuinely still thinks he's the good guy even though he stole 10-20 billion dollars from his customers and then lost it all gambling. insane, but that's le wholesome chungus effective altruism in action

i was reading the EA pitch and it is the most hubristic thing ever, basically anything goes as long as you can rationalize it being for the greater good. evil shit. I've always known morals were important, but I still had the same streak of thinking that sam went down, basically that aiming for outcomes is the primary consideration. It just really sunk in for me how dysfunctional that is, outcomes have to be the result of a good framework or you could do anything. you can rationalize and reason and logic your way into anything to achieve maximal good.

its just thinking you're smart enough to consider all the factors and design the perfect maximizer of whatever you value... but we're not smart, in fact we're actually intentionally stupid. a marker of intelligence in animals is the ability to lie, and we lie to others and to ourselves, we intentionally omit information in order form beliefs. the world is too chaotic to do anything else, we have to determine what's important and exclude the rest. our brains are built to lie.

i just think our inbuilt morality is the much more purposeful and functional than we give it credit for. i.e, i won't steal this money because stealing is wrong because deep unconscious parts of my brain tell me that this is true and i should probably take its word for it.

starting from a framework of good and evil is taking advantage of either a billion years of evolution or divine inspiration or both. in comparison, starting from "I think this hypothetical utopic vision will be maximal for everyone so i'll do anything to move towards it" is purely banking on your frontal logic lobe which literally exists so you can lie to yourself

when the bottom was reached in 2018, did the sentiment accurately predict it and shift from bear to bull? or did the sentiment predict it would continue and go even lower?

ok so

>any whale who is worried about the merge would have gotten out of eth long ago, if merge goes well, stables buy back in number go up
makes sense short term as in like, the next 24h

but is there a longterm thesis for the merge to effect price? surely all miners expecting to graduate to validators have been building their eth stacks for a good while now for staking, so what's going to change about that after the merge?

the concerted fudding on link is so extreme in the last couple months. It's unlike any other coin. You'd think if it was just a useless POS all the fudders want people to think, it would simply be ignored like all the other shitcoins. What's the deal with that? are people actually getting paid to try to spread misinformation and make people on 4chan sell link?? that just seems so insane, why would anyone give a shit about what people on this website do? is it OG linkies trying to close the pool? what do they stand to gain from that?
