GME - X = GME = WAGMI

Substitute X for more GME and you end up with less GME. You shouldn't have dropped out of math camp.

You can just set aside 50% of your position in cash. $10k split into $5k cash and $5k SPY is identical to $10k in a hypothetical 0.5x leverage fund.

the last guy to sell will get the lowest price, so we must wait for him to rebuy at the same price he bought. maybe do the same for the second last and so one, until the first guy rebuys. if we pull this off, nobody loses!

That's $10,800 worth of debt relief right there.

Actively managed funds are good if you're doing sector allocations. There's no reason to buy an actively managed fund that compares itself to the S&P 500 though.

I was here in 2021. I do remember that. But, I take everything said on here with a whole damn shaker of salt. I treat it more as a board for comedy, not serious financial advice.

I will answer serious questions about macroeconomics, stocks, bonds, retirement/brokerage accounts, insurance, etc. But, those threads usually die pretty fast.

Credentialism (look it up).

It's basically a way to keep competition in your profession lower so you have a higher chance of keeping your job and having a higher wage/salary. It's very similar to how guilds operated hundreds of years ago. Ironically, corporations get around this by either importing millions of illegal immigrants and paying them under-the-table, or hiring outside educated foreigners with visas. It's just another way to keep poor people down and keep the elites up.

As an example; to be a financial advisor, you are required by law to have a Series 7 certification. On top of that, no brokerage firm will hire you unless you have a Bachelors Degree in finance, economics, buisness, accounting, or law. It used to be you couldn't even get a Series 7 unless you already were being sponsored by and working for a brokerage firm, or investment bank. FINRA recently changed that, but it doesn't matter. Without a degree, no company will hire you, period.

So, now if you just want to be a basic financial advisor (with shitty starting pay, usually around $45k - $50k), working with clients at a little office somewhere, you need to spend over $120k and 5 - 6 years of schooling, just to get a Bachelors Degree. Then on top of that, you have to pay again and take a Series 7 test. Then if you want to get a better job position with a better raise, you have to pay to take even more tests to get a CFA, or CPA.

It's just a way to keep competition out.

A recession is coming.

The company I work for is a major supplier for Whirlpool, SubZero, GE, Delta, Aker and other plumbing brands.

We have had massive cuts in our overtime over the last 2 months, where it's almost non-existent now. A few people have even been fired. We have completely caught up with our backorders and the customers have too much supply in their inventory.

This began in late June - early July. Our management team claimed this would all be over by early August and overtime would be back. We are now 3 weeks into August and it's gotten even worse. Our warehouse is becoming barren and now management is running around trying to find random shit for people to do. Some people are literally just walking around for hours with nothing to do, so they just hand them a broom and tell them to go sweep around the factory.
