Put yourselves in the shoes of the CEO for a second. Let's say there's a decent amount of talented people who belong to minority groups. They get stuff done and don't need to make as much money as heterosexual whites. They save money for the company. They're low maintenance and enjoy their job. Meanwhile heterosexual whites don't want to be told what to do. They're insubordinate and feel entitled to positions of power.

Wouldn't you want to create a friendly environment to accommodate minority people? You'd rather have them working for your company than be competing against them, right? So it seems that there's a rational reason for you to throw some money at diversity training. It's not just political correctness, it's capitalism at work.
