The Raiden devs have attested to X9's progress on multiple occasions. They have one of the most active githubs in crypto.

You can download the wallet, make a one coin deposit, and perform trustless Lightning swaps between Bitcoin, Litecoin, and XSN right now.
I can't think of anything else that allows me to do that, but I do recall many insinuations about it too being vaporware - all through the private betas and right up until the open beta.
Expanding with Raiden will certainly prove why their already-working L2 ecosystem is choice. They've undoubtedly made great progress on that end and that's why the idea of getting MNs before Raiden is so strongly encouraged.

It's slated to be done within 2 or 3 build updates. The Raiden devs appear to be very impressed with X9's progress and they have one of the most active github repos in crypto, so I think they're on the right track.

1.) Not yet personally but I've been testing the wallet for a year. I'm waiting for the Windows build.
2.) Afaik Raiden's client will run in addition to LND's and have private key integration with Stakenet DEX.
3.) I've wondered this myself and I think it will ultimately come down to competitive market makers who chase trading fees. From what I've gathered, one Hydra node can be configured to run and host multiple chains.

The Raiden devs speak highly of XSN. One especially seething 4channeler, however, does not.

Oh, come on. Just in the past week, they had their open beta launch, got watchtowers up and running, and got high praise for their work from the Raiden devs despite being snubbed by the rest of the industry for ages.

Whose opinion is more believable?
The Raiden devs or some bitter ex-whale who sold the bottom?

I don't know, but the Raiden devs are pretty impressed with the progress X9 has made since GIT 127 (5 weeks ago).

Even the Raiden devs seem to be bullish about XSN and they're ranked in the top 10 for github activity cryptowide.
