The idea is solid. The the infrastructure for large mesh networks already exists or could be put in place inexpensively.

I don't know how difficult it would be to design protocals for such a network, but someone will figure it out eventually. When they do, a distributed internet becomes inevitable. I don't know if it will be Sky, but I'm willing to risk a bit.
