I would just suggest more research first. Although I'd personally go with 2x over 3x LETFs. The studies I mention were called "leverage for the long run" and "the long term behavior of leveraged ETFs." As for leverage in general, you should also look into deep ITM LEAPS (on SPY and QQQ). And long synthetic futures if you have full options approval. The breakeven is everything. For example, if SPY has to go up 8% each year to breakeven then the leverage isn't worth it, while at 2% it probably is.

Go with SPY and sell covered calls. 30 delta/30 DTE covered calls would give around $300 per month. And allow for upward growth. So 500 shares (250k) should be enough.
