is there a clear-cut answer to the question "should i buy government minted coins or bars?" or is that like asking /k/ "which is better, an AR or an AK?"

right now i got some 10oz bars and some 1oz rounds, but was considering getting some 1oz coins-- if the premium i'd pay is worth it in the end. but im getting the feeling that dilemma is kinda up in the air, from what im reading

does anyone know of any good Windows software to track your gold/silver/coins? you know, catalogue your collection, track what you paid for your pieces, scan in and attach your invoices, all that shit. i could throw together an Excel spreadsheet but id rather have something purpose-built, if it exists
