too many consumers were becoming alert to the extremely high price of eggs, so have to run the propaganda machine to tell people that they are bad for you, to try and reduce their consumption and decrease the prices
if people start talking about inflation in their day to day lives, talking about how high the price of eggs are / making jokes about it, then inflation expectations become entrenched, and other people are more likely to begin raising their prices on their goods and services, making the Fed's job more difficult in controlling inflation
so, run the propaganda machine..
