casual insecure people might buy luxury car to feel better themselves and less insecure. npd buys luxury car to get reaction from others, positive or negative reaction(jealous) is both accepted. in fact many clinical narcs as they are pathologically envious they think all other people think like themselves and are very
jealous for them. so flexing becomes natural. if npd does not get reaction from others they feel like drowning because trauma created fake self needs constant attention from others
