Anon, for some jobs you need an expensive watch. And I'm not talking about tacky watches like audermars piquet but more like vacheron constantin. They are a conversation starter, way to virtue signal that you have serious money and some even keep their value which makes it a smart investment (you can't do the same with shoes,a suit or most cars). Yes it doesn't make any sense if your a code monkey, but will if you work in board rooms etc.
