I don't understand how this isn't every single person's first priority in life. Spending 40 hours a week working is so fucked. How can I be more productive? Just started my first job as a software engineer two weeks ago. I'm very unqualified (I have a math degree, not CS). I have so much shit to learn. I find that brain fog kicks in hard at 2 or 3 pm, and then the day is pretty much ruined. I want to spend more time after work learning programming, but I don't have the energy.

I've been having severe anxiety over some financial concerns (nothing major, but uncertain) and haven't been able to sleep well for a week. I wake up at night with my heart racing and have daily panic attacks. Can't really eat either.

My doctor didn't do much but put me on an anti-depressant, the way I'm reacting can't be normal right? I really don't want to take these meds but I can't imagine this is the reaction of a well adjusted person.
