honestly USA needs to make their own platform similar to twitter just for people in office, and then allow other social media platforms to embed content for discussions (discussions on their own government platform should also be possible of course so that the public always can partake in discussion with officials).

think about this, twitter want to censor what trump is saying but doesn't do it simply because he is the president. this means twitter is a class-based platform where rules don't apply for people of special privilege.

someone not the president today can be censored. someone running for the president can be censored. yet if he already was the president he wouldn't be censored. this is a big problem.

the only solution i see is either
1. the government needs their own platform for officials that other platforms can embed stuff from (embedding both public discussion and the government official's post as well).

or 2. laws needs to change to make it so that companies classify themselves as either a publisher or a platform.
(publisher = may censor but are more responsible for content being posted, platform = may not censor but are not responsible for content posted)
