There are easier ways to say you've never studied any part of human history. What do people grab when there's a natural disasters or conflict? Food, water, clothing, blankets. They bury their valuables so they can come back to them, but you don't want to be laden down with them, which is why you get pic related all over Europe.

Paid labour happens when you have established communities with stable resources. Until then you're getting paid in water, food, shelter and safety. Your work you eat. You're confusing the period of stability with the period directly after the collapse. Stability can take decades.

Enough food to survive for months during the chaos? Somewhere safe to grow food? The knowledge to grow food? The knowledge to survive through winter? Precious metals won't help you.

Believe what you want, but if you're stacking for an eventual collapse you're an idiot.
