ATTENTION NERDS:
Give me your best resources and tools for backtesting or even experiencing the day by day progression of the markets.

I would like to go through the market of 1997-2001 and explore the message boards and IRC records and NYT/WSJ headlines and Fed meetings etc. to decide how best to handle this.

Investopedia and tradingview are what I'm working with. Could use help incorporating data from the Fed site regarding yields and spreads also copper and vix... fuck it I need to learn to code.
