Not investment advice etc., but if this is money you don't expect to need, or need growing immediately, I would recommend one of the junior, mid-risk companies. Dolly Varden, Impact Silver, Blue Lagoon come to mind as companies whose share price are between 40 and 85 cents, letting you accumulate more.

Once they start to move, you should see better returns. $1200 only buys you sub 20 shares of AG right now.
