You have one example of a person who earns six figures and you extrapolate that example to the whole industry? Clearly it's you who are clueless about the whole thing. How many cushy government jobs are there compared to the amount of people who are wasting their time studying foreign languages? Maybe one graduate out of a million will sit in the UN or EU parliament or some other bureaucratic cesspool (like your mother in law) and will leech the taxpayer money translating the NWO shit. The others (the absolute majority) will compete with 3rd world freelancers for peanuts. In order to earn 6 figures as a translator you have to be either an exceptional pro or have extremely good connections. In order to get to that level you need to spend ~15-20 years + have self-promotion skills + be well-connected. I have spoken with freelance translators, they all earn shit, they have to tranlslate like 200 pages of text to get about 1000 bucks. That is a fucking book. It's a bullshit shit-payed job. Soon to be replaced by machine translation. The only people who deny that are faculty deans and other academia shills, who still want to cash in, to get money from the idiots willing to get into debt for a shitty scam degree.

You could earn six figures just learning a trade and working for 2-3 years. No college degree, no debt, also you don't need to be an exceptional 1% ultra-genius in your trade or suck the UN bureaucrat's cock to get a job, you just need to be a good reliable professional.
