The only argument I could get behind is that we will transition away from oil both for automobiles and plastics to where it will last longer than it's currently projected, but oil too will eventually run out

Copper in particular is *essential* - no electricity without copper
It's also more so about what is economically viable to produce
Saying "Oh we're never going to run out of iron because it's 5% of the Earth's crust" is retarded when no mine will ever be viable when ore purity is only 5%

I agree with you here, but I think it's going to be more nuclear than solar
You need a power source that generates steadily without fluctuations - solar is not able to do this (nor is wind) you *need* nuclear
