it means you can start porting killer apps like wordpress by replacing sql queriies with GraphQL.
It's early but in time migrating to holochain will be a painless drop and replace process that webdesigner code monkey can do, bringing us closer to pic related singularity.
the big fuck up right now is all the time they're spending on the rust refactor, once that's done it becomes trivial to port the holochain sdk to any language that can compile to WASM, which is pretty much every language in use in the last decade.

ICO hodler here, don't pump my bags on fomo alone, dyor and be prepared to hodl for at least 6 months to a year and don't panic at the first sign of trouble.
Also, if you can code, checkout the dev documentation and BUIDL, with holo we have a chance to pump our own bags by coding hAPPs and driving adoption.

all the answers you received are wrong or incomplete

Holochain
- a framework to build dapps (doesn't have a token)
- it's an analog to blockchain in a way

These apps built on Holochain are only P2P and there's no way to access them through a regular browser.
Holo is the flagship dapp built on Holochain. Its purpose is to provide hosting for these holochain apps so normies can access them through Chrome, Mozilla, etc. The creators of these apps must pay for hosting on the Holo platform in the same way that you today you pay to host your website. The token that is used to pay for the hosting is Holofuel. This token is special because it actually buys you computational power in the network. Hosts set how much holofuel they want to charge per computational unit. This means that due to the free market economics, it's a race to the bottom where hosts provide cheaper and cheaper hosting. That means 1 holofuel can buy you more computational power which makes it more valuable over time. The more computational power there is in the network and more competition, the more valuable 1 holofuel is.

HOT (holotoken) is just a placeholder for Holofuel. You will be able to swap them when the network is operational.

TL/DR:
Holochain - blockchain
Holo - Bitcoin (the protocol)
Holofuel - Bitcoin (the currency)

they didn't hire her, she was a volunteer for years, because that's the kind of cultish devotion this shit inspires in normies and that's why it's going to moon so fucking hard.
With every hackathon they're creating zealot devs that are going to build shit for holo and are going to shill it to their companies.
The weirdos and freaks on the team were the most bullish signal you could have ever seen, the boomers among us remembered the same freaks and weirdos shilling bitcoin back in '09, we knew where this was going and we tried to warn you.

because it's the painfull reminder that they were scammed into all those pointless shitcoins that promised something that anyone with even a passing idea of the technology knew was complete bullshit.
Because the team is normie friendly instead of the autistic snake oil salesmen they idolize.
because it's undeniable proof that they truly are the pathetic failures their moms boyfriend always said they were.
I mean, I get it, it hurts to have this fantasy they built of themselves get crushed by reality, but they need to move on and learn from their mistakes.

Actually holofuels mechanics are prime singularity material.
Remember that holofuels value comes from it's computing purchasing power and when the holo network comes online it will mean a sudden explosive growth of available computing power.
And since holos algorithm value stabilization mechanism takes at least three months before kicking in, you have three months of a literal price singularity.
Even when the mechanism kicks in it will always be too slow to lower the price much and basic economics dictates that holo fuel will always appreciate, even if slowly, since the only way hosters have of competing is by lowering their holo prices for each compute unit, thus increasing holos purchasing power and it's fiat price.

I keep seeing your shitpost in every holo thread. Either this is a veiled attempt at FUD or you're too retarded to DYOR.

>News of high hosting revenues would attract many hosts causing a glut of hosting supply
more hosts mean more competitive prices which brings in more developers that want to take advantage of this. law of supply and demand. see pic related

>Non-token Holo fuel not accepted by many exchanges
I've said this before and I'll say it again. Holofuel is not harder to list than IOTA. It might take a while but it will be listed because the exchanges business model is allowing people to trade whatever the fuck they want and taking fees. If some of the big exchanges ignore a coin that crashed IDEX in the first week due tot the trading volume, other will not. Such a stupid question

>Bugs in early Alpha releases of Holochain
this will have the mother of a security audit before launch. You should be more worried about your other shitcoins than Arthur and Eric's code.

>Attacks on security model of hosting and currency
what attacks? Any attempt to attack will just fork you out of the network. Do you even know how this works? Do you want me to go through a full 5 post explanation about the security of holochain? How about you go read up on it instead of shitting this board.

I kinda get what you're asking, but the premise is still flawed. There are 3 types of "users".
1. Hosts
2. Developers that need hosting (dapps)
3. Regular users/normies that access holo apps through browsers

Regular users have no direct influence on the price. Most likely they won't be aware that the app they are using is hosted on Holo. Users don't need to pay with holofuel to use the apps. A developer can require that but it would be retarded as fuck. You can monetize your users any way you want. It's like you using Facebook without paying for Facebook's hosting because they show you ads. Another example is you using a SaaS and paying a monthly fee with fiat. You can do that on Holo too. You then convert some of that fiat from the users in holofuel and pay for hosting. Holo = hosting

The important part of the equation is the developers that need hosting and the hosts. The way it works is like this:
1. many dapps and few hosts
- price of holofuel is low so more hosts join the network to take advantage of this and receive more holofuel per computational unit
- we reach an equilibrium where the supply meets the demand

2. few dapps and many hosts
- hosts offer computational power for less holofuel to be competitive
- more dapps are coming in the network for the cheap hosting; if too many come, more hosts will also join the network, thus increasing the computational power
- we reach an equilibrium

It's basic supply and demand law. No matter what price the holofuel is, the market adjusts so that you pay a fair price for hosting.

>How am I supposed to know that?
As long as the network is not up, the token only has speculative value. Buying now is speculating on the future computational power in the network. This is the main driving factor for the price. See pic related.

>Cancels out? how?

>holofuels price will not be determined by the marketcap but instead by the supply/demand of the computational power in the network
so wrong. You're confusing value with price.

>The price of holofuel will be set by an algorithm that will try to keep holofuel as stable as possible in terms of price.
wrong again and confusing value and price

You are calling other people retards when you are the bigger retard that read something that he couldn't understand. I appreciate your intentions of shilling this, but at least do it the proper way. Learn the difference between value stable and price stable.

Here's a way to think about it for brainlets.
1 holofuel buys me x amounts of computational units
computational power in the network doubles
1 holofuel now buys me 2x computational units
1 holofuel is now 2 times more valuable and the market adjusts to reflect this in the price

Here's another side of the same coin:
- I'm a host and I charge 10 holofuel for X computational units
- Other hosts come in the network and they are willing to offer the same amount of computational units for 5 holofuel
- I am forced to do the same to stay competitive
- 1 Holofuel is now 2 times more valuable and the market adjusts to reflect this in the price

Holofuel is value stable because no matter how much the price is, X amounts of dollars buy you the same amount of computational power. The fuel on the other hand can have whatever price the market decides, but due to the scale of things it will always default to being valued proportionally to the amount of computational units that it buys. It's actually brilliantly designed when you think about it.
