I have a friend who went all into a 2x leveraged ETF in natural gas, and he was up massively with the 2018 winter spike, but he got greedy and didn't trim/take profit on a leveraged ETF.
To this day he's still bagholding and is down like -$20K maple dollars. He can't even use the losses to write off taxes since it's all in a TFSA (tax-free already), he used up his TFSA contribution for this shit and none of my efforts to tell him to cut his losses in 2019 and 2020 have been successful

he keeps telling me if it spikes again he'll sell and cut his losses then, and it has never spiked ever since
