I agree. Me wasting time in videogames as a teenager led me to have a firm grasp of the english language which otherwise I wouldn't have learned and it gave me access to higher quality information. Were it not for the video games I wouldn't be here, I wouldn't have known so many other sites (blogs, videos, etc) with so much truth in them.

I have far more ambitions than the people around me because I know a whole lot more about the world than them, and this wouldn't be the case if I only spoke the local language and my sources of information were boomer TV and social media.

Governments will always try to limit your knowledge of the outside because otherwise their people would always know there's always a better life for them somewhere out there and leave. This is why government run schools in the West pretend to be teaching you foreign languages but only do so very superficially so you'll forget about them and why many african countries have made satellite TV illegal so the tax cattle don't leave en masse.

The importance of having access to high value information cannot be understated.

I didn't like Unscripted as much as TMFL but I still think it's a worthwhile read.
For books that aren't on the list... Aaron Clarey's books are pretty good for young men that want to get their finances right.
