Holding water.

So here is my plan. Water is getting more and more expensive. THIS IS A FACT! it will always be like this. I live in california and i have been thinking about this: By massive tank. I mean insanely big. Then store a lot of water in it from the tap and then sell it off when my position has increased with 10-30%? Maybe even get rainwater to lower costs and increase profits?

Any good places to get a tank. Or should i just go to home depot and get giant buckets?

The biggest flaw with capitalism is the mismatch of information (you can cheat the not all knowing consumer) and by that increase P, if you have a mismatch in information by both consumers and producers, you cannot get an pareto efficient society => das bad nigg.

but the biggest flaw might be that perfect competition is impossible, therefore markets tend to grow towards monopolies which drives down Q and increase P.

Im not saying that capitalism is a bad system, its the best we got, but it is still flawed

alright /biz/ I like the cut of your jib.

I'll give you some background info and then suggestions / what I want to do:

> 22 uni student in STEM field. (3 years to go still)
> About to get a side job on my days off so i can save more cash.
> have about 5k in total (was shit with money but lesson learnt.)
> Brisbane, Australia

Now my original plan was to just continue living frugal and save for the rest of my life till i got to a point where I can live comfortably and retire, (maybe start a business or two) but I'm thinking being frugal is not the "Capitalist Way™"

So I'm thinking I might give a hand in stocks/investing. as many on here seem to think is worthwhile, however I have gripes that I can't quite deal with:

1. I'm going to be busy most of the time, save for weekends
>uni schedule is 8am-5pm for two days, plus work on another two days, so that leaves me one day and the weekend "free"
I have no problems with hustling and keeping busy, but I'm just thinking of how quick I need to be able to respond to the markets.(Only have a lunch break at uni, I purposely compacted my schedule) Or could i just do trading on a single day (ie: monday) and still be fairly reasonable? How can my schedule work here?

2. If I'm going with this, I'm only going to do a percentage of my income/savings, so probably around 15% which atm is about $750. should this be enough to get started?

3. what sort of stocks should I be looking for? I get the whole risk and reward, but I don't think I have the reaction time to deal with high risk stocks. if something tanks quickly and I'm still at uni or work or something..... so does that rule tech companies out? what is something else I can deal in?

I'm a stem major and I'm getting into robotics, so I feel that I have a close enough contact to the industry to know what's happening and act accordingly.

Have I got this the right way? what are your suggestions for my financial future?
