All we know is they co-innovated the token with Lition and that their CTO Jurgen Muller co-authored the technical whitepaper and is Lition's main advisor to this day. We haven't heard about what they're doing yet because SAP don't make announcements until the product is ready. Because the team have only just launched the 'mainnet' we expect them to announce what they're doing soon.

Technically it's 1k for a node and 50k for a trust node. However at the moment they're slowly onboarding the nodes and it's unlikely you'll be able to launch one with less than 50k for at least a couple of months.

In answer to your other questions. The current use case up right now is the energy use case. They've said in their whitepaper that they plan on getting 1.5 million transactions per day based on this use cases by 2020. We've been told earlier this year that they will reach this but really we don't know. At the moment there are only about 50k transactions per day. As for the other use cases they are going to launch the STO sidechain and loan sidechain soon. In the recent medium article they've indicated a new sidechain will open with a new partner.
