I cannot fucking go from the Salesforce tower to Liverpool Street Station without 5 fucking bums yelling at me "pleeeease siiiiir give me money in huuungryyy i spent all my money on craaack"
it was always bad but it feels like since corona started it got way way way worse

Lived in this shithole for roughly a year and hate everything about the place but kinda keen on moving back (based and working remotely in a northern European country that starts with S and ends with N) because I miss the pulse of the city. I'd earn roughly the same amount as I do now though (~£120k).

Is it worth it? Anyone else here who lives/lived in London and moved back? Is this just a severe case of Stockholm syndrome?

Why is London the best city in the world?

Thoughts on this shithole? Recently left this place after a year of pure misery despite having a pretty decent income (roughly £100k). The women are gold-diggers, most "friends" you meet are gold- and/or status-diggers, and the only escape from this grim reality is to self-medicate yourself with alcohol and cocaine during the weekends. On that point, I've never met as many people who are high-functioning coke addicts as I have in London - 75% of the bloody City is fueled by coke delivered through SMS by Albanians with sub-15 minute SLAs.

Am I the only one on the outside of some huge inside joke about the so-called charm of this city? The only redeeming qualities are the history and the traditions, but everything else is just pure overpriced shit and I don't understand why poor wageslaves stick around and commute on that MISERABLE Underground for hours each day and see their life flash before their eyes.
