Almost every single altcoin is just a cargo-cult of what BTC is. Some developers go on to make an altcoin for purely selfish material reasons of getting a ton of money out of it, some because they are coders at heart and want to tinker with code which they were not able to do with BTC (because few can and it's painfully slow process to contribute).

As for the average speculator crowd, most altcoiners only act like they dislike BTC because they feel envy, resentment, and frustration about having "been late" to BTC, so of course altcoins would appeal heavily to that and say they are the "next BTC" in some way... But they always miss the economic arguments as to why BTC is set to continue to be king. That's what a cryptocurrency principally is: an economic innovation. But many of the lefty redditors just assumed it was about jerking off to the technological components like blockchain because they don't understand it was engineered very specifically for bitcoin, because they don't know much about economics and wanted to think about it like developers of apps. Like "currency" or a "store of value" was just another app that could be tacked onto a bunch of other app features. That explains a lot of what happened in 2017. People heavily invested in their narratives as to how their little tech projects were "better than BTC", so they take the possibility that the might have been missing something all along personally.. They are ego invested in their speculative vehicle being the most special snowflake.

You can trade altcoins but in the long run you should probably have the goal of that to be accumulating sats (digital gold which has not yet reached its potential and taken on physical gold's market cap).

Read "What Has Government Done To Our Money?" By Murray Rothbard... You can find it for free, in audio book form too, on mises.org.. Then read pic related book. Then buy and hold bitcoin and ignore all biz shilling of various shitcoins until mid summer 2021 at the earliest. Only then if you have paid attention and learned a lot, and so know you won't fall for the worst altcoin shills, then you can permit yourself to speculate on shitcoins for the purpose of flipping them for more sats.

Does this seem like a good place to learn to you? If you unironically believe the Q larping then I guess I could see how it might... But consider reading a few books first, then maybe two dozen articles.

SOV doesn't mean it will always goes up and there is never downwards volatility, that's just a shitcoiner or nocoiner strawman attempt (mainly from reddit mETH heads who are salty that their flippening flopped so badly). It's a sov for people with low time preference, and the network effect for that use case is just getting started. It has excellent properties that will make it a good sov long term relative to anything else.

BTC can 10x in the next two to three years. Up to you if you think that's worth it.

Learn why you want to be one of the kids who passes the marshmallow experiment and how it relates to your last question. Then figure out why you should actually want to invest the time in learning about what it is you're holding and the bullish case for it all on your own, and start by reading the pic related book: https://libgen.is/book/index.php?md5=7D394651158ABC9470CBCCE538FAAA49

A bitcoin doesn't have to be "based on" anything. It is valued by people in and of itself.

Read pic related, you can find it here for free: https://libgen.is/book/index.php?md5=7D394651158ABC9470CBCCE538FAAA49

Look up podcasts and youtubes and articles explaining bitcoin.

Asking questions on 4chan is an inefficient and shoddy means of learning, just do some actual fucking research. If you thought bitcoin was pegged to fiat in anyway that is astonishingly uninformed. And most people here just want to sell you shitcoins, most people here buy into delusional narratives which they desperately want to spread to some guy like you who doesn't know anything because you can't tell they are full of shit.

People who would effort post in a thread like this, and type that are desperate to see their bags pumped. Being desperate isn't actually a sign of success, so you are just hearing from someone who has done a shitty job themselves yet doubles down on their narratives instead of learning and reevaluating.

Books. Economics and game theory is what made bitcoin successful, the altcoins that came after are mostly a bunch of scammers and sóyboys who didn't really understand bitcoin in the first place yet wanted to make their own money. Read books about king crypto first, rather than biz or reddit or twitter posts from shills who have a long track record of being wrong that you are unaware of.

Figure out why the libertarian geeks who first got into bitcoin were right and have been right for the past ten years despite countless people who kept telling them it would fail. Read pic related, and Rothbard's "What Has Government Done To Our Money" as a foundation for understanding money. The majority of "The Bitcoin Standard" is about the nature of money which is why I recommend it.

Pic related can be downloaded here for free: https://libgen.is/book/index.php?md5=7D394651158ABC9470CBCCE538FAAA49
It's also on audible.

Rothbard's book can be found for free on mises.org in text or audiobook format.

Rothbard's "What Has Government Done To Our Money" is excellent and not that long, he's got a crystal clear way of writing. You can certainly find it for free even in audio book form on mises.org.

Pic related is also excellent, most of the book is actually just talking about the nature of money.
Here's the free epub, author says he doesn't give a shit if people pirate it.

Bro you just need to narrative capitulate in order to sexually gratify yourself on all these reliable BTC BGDs. Golden bull is just getting started. If alt-season happens it's a long ways off.

I'm noticing more altcoiners sounding like they have narrative-capitulated. No boding well for the "alt season imminent" narrative. BTC maximalist gains over the course of many years has proven that our narratives are most reliably profitable.

Yes I'm a bitcoin maximalist, cry harder thinking that's an insult when I'm fucking rich and about to get richer. You are like one of the shitcoiners who entered the space in 2017 after hearing me talk about my profits, then did some retard reddit tier research and bought into narratives that could only thrive in a delusional malinvestment environment that saw every scam moon. The bubble on your malinvestment inspired narratives has popped and will continue to pop, and I look forward to reading your cope posts.

lol btc maximalists will always be right, stop fighting it and thinking you are more clever than those who got this whole shebang started. If you want to play with alts wait until we're much higher. If history is to repeat itself then alt frenzy only starts when we're way above 10k because that is when stupid normies start thinking they might be good at speculating again.
