Well, wealth is built via assets. Businesses are productive, and paper corps are good for tax avoidance. Stocks pay dividends, so with $500k you can pull a $50k per year income just on dividends. Even more if you sell out of a position for profits and then buy into a cheaper stock with similar yields. Rental properties are also good passive income, especially if you have enough money to buy a shit ton and hand em off to a property manager. Lots of ways to maintain wealth without selling assets, but rather with collecting income from several sources.
