I was showing my friend a video of Craig Wright at a conference and he asked "is this guy a magician or a comedian?"

He literally has the body language of David Brent from the Office.

Ok, so my post kept getting deleted on the Bitcoin subreddit and someone told me I should post here.

I am a long-time cypher punk and crypto expert who has been in the industry since 1992. I worked on the OpenPGP standard back in the early days as well as the XMPP protocol, to name a few. I am proud to say that I was friends with Hal Finney, who was my mentor during the OpenPGP days and whose death sent shockwaves through the community.

I have met and emailed with Nick Szabo. I have argued with Adam Back on mailing lists. I know all of these guys, and I know the culture and unspoken standards held by those who have been in this game as long as I have. Here is a hint: just about every notion you hold about the intrinsic nature of cryptography is naive or elementary.

With that said, I am here to say one thing, and quite emphatically at that; Craig Steven Wright is Satoshi Nakamoto (so is Dave Kleiman). "Dont trust, verify" is an absolute joke, and seeing hoardes of GREEDY non-techies parrot this BS every time the man is brought up is not only disheartening, but laughably naive. If you want to learn the fundamentals of crypto, stop listening to YouTubers and start learning law.

The man is a prick, and he is difficult to work with. I have met Craig twice; once in 2004 at a conference and again last year. He is massively brilliant and I have learned more about crypto currency from watching two talks he did on YouTube than anyone else. He has a founders perspective and understands nuances in the protocol that noone else has gotten yet, to my knowledge. He is a treasure of our time, and to see him characterized as a con artist or a scammer is more a sign than ever that you are all blind sheeps and sycophants.

Please do your research. And stop listening to YouTubers or hucksters trying to put naive ideas in your head.
