I think the latter are way more important and should be encouraged. Maxing out one's personal fate is way less effective than maxing out everyone's fate.
Think global and your actions will more likely tie you to the global fate and thus stabilize your fate.
Securing one's fate by getting rich can not work for everybody as most people have average and less wealth and by this frame will be made feeling insecure, which in turn will make them wanting to take from wealthy people.
