Ten years ago, I only had a passing interest in bitcoin but it was being pumped by my friends and certain websites, and those friends and websites were definitely Ron Paul types who saw this as merely a barter chip used to bypass the Fed as much as possible...a relative handful of people came in and created a speculative frenzy around profit, computer speed and youtube subs, particularly targeting gullible youth.
