You're never going to able to out-consume a debtmaxxed couple each making just 70k.
Either stop worrying about it or get a gf. You're garage will be filled with useless shit in no time

>Surely the investors are savvy enough to see through their scheme, if it is a scheme.
It only takes 1 example of a "scheme" with as much money or more money invested in it than Blockfi is receiving to invalidate that.
Moreover Bernie Madoff did this with so much investor money that it triggered an even greater $363 billion pull out of investors from the market. If wealthy investors have a way of spotting schemes they certainly didn't learn that skill at any point prior to 2008 given how many of them not even involved with Madoff panic sold when they realized it could happen to them too.
And it's maybe even more ridiculous in the case of Theranos since the deliverable they claimed is unambiguously impossible on a basic physical level. This is something any of their investors could have learned if they spent even the slightest amount of effort doing their own research and consulting biomedical tech engineers before opening their wallets.
So surely Blockfi's investors would be "savvy enough" to recognize a "scheme?" No, there is no reason to make that assumption.
To get completely out of specific examples and into investing as a whole, the market is a zero sum game. Nobody wins in a big way without others losing in a big way. By its very nature there are always investors losing out for lack of good judgement. Non-managed index funds doing nothing but tracking the market outperform the majority of managed portfolios. This is a piece of trivia almost everyone has heard at some point. And yet investors with plenty of money every day continue to hand their money over to these portfolio managers.

You're not supposed to have anywhere near that many things go wrong that early on post-buy, anon. And you filed for homestead exemption, right? That cuts your taxes down a lot in most states.
t. bought a house last year / only paying $2K a year (i.e. ~$167 / month) for property taxes in a state with no income tax.
PS: Contest your property taxes every time they try to raise it which is probably every two or three years. They never make your taxes worse if you do that and half the time they'll agree and lower your taxes since the vast majority of property owners don't contest their taxes and the tax districts only need to make the vocal minority happy.

i think i'm in big trouble at work

>be me, start reading /fit/ and going to the gym after work
>end of the day go into the work bathroom to get changed
>strip off and put on gym shirt
>realize i left my fresh underwear and shorts on my desk chair
>don't want to put work pants or underwear back on just to go get them
>no one was left in the office so it won't matter
>put on shoes so i don't need to walk on the bathroom floor
>walk through empty office to my desk in my t-shirt and shoes
>hear the front door keypad and voices and my heart stops
>i know who it is from their voice, two women (one old, one young)
>frantically start trying to put on clothes
>can't get the underwear over my shoes
>realize i'm out of time and give up and run out through the fire escape
>almost certain they saw me running through the office in just a t-shirt and shoes

what do i do know? that was tuesday afternoon. i didn't go to work yesterday and i have two missed calls from work and i don't want to check my email. i only got this job because the only girlfriend i ever had got her dad to get me it. i am scared.
