The way I'm trying to do this is to keep a portfolio that is highly similar to a basket of the heaviest SPX components with some additional spice thrown in when I feel like it
I rebalance when needed, it tends to be monthly, the goal of that is to keep the highest total % performers as the highest market value positions (such that the worst losers are the smallest positions). Ideally I want the list of positions ranked by % return to be identical to the ranking by market value
