i think the best you can hope for bitcoin at this point is it keep a certain value like property: the house your grandparents bought for $25k in 1970 is now worth about $165k, which happens to be what $25k in 1970 is worth in 2020.

Some people for pretty obvious reasons decided to invest in Bitcoin in early 2018, unaware it was falling from its never to be reached again peak of nearly $20k. They sought loans (often from family members like parents or in-laws) and/or mortgaged their property to get in thinking they were GOING TO THE MOON LOL

But times like these show Bitcoins/crypt'o's utter weakness. Like all digital content, it has no other use. At least the gold or tulip bulbs or beanie babies or bags of papper or salt that have been used in current and other times have other uses besides currency.

In a ravaged world you might be able to barter a beanie baby for a jug of water. Or break a CD to make a pointy object to defend yourself. No one gives a crap about your invisible "money". You can't hold it and defend yourself with it
