yeah i guess so! maybe there's some kind of connection between the coordinates/numbers and the location in question.

it doesn't have to be coordinates though, you can also do it by focusing on an object or a picture (psychometry) and learning more about it/its history but for some reason the map coordinates (latitude/longitude) were what the Army used and i guess it's kind of the standard.

but, like, they've also just given the reader a number (go to the place marked #7 and describe it for me) or whatever. when my friend and i would practice we would just go "alright what place am i thinking of now" and we got a couple correct/nearly correct answers or "hits"

another fun thing to play with are Zener cards, i.e. the cards that have like a star, triangle, heart, squiggly line, etc on them, and you guess which shape is going to come up next. the number of correct guesses is often extraordinarily improbable, for more on this see the experiments of JB Rhine from Princeton around WW1

An important thing that Jung mentioned in conjunction with all this stuff (in his book "Synchronicity") is that the state of mind impacts the effectiveness of these efforts, like if you are excited or curious about it you are more likely to be able to accomplish these things than if you are skeptical, bored, anxious or angry. his theory was that emotion provides a certain organizing principle to the mental energy
