Oil prices figure into the price of all commodities. If other countries can spit out dirt cheap oil, the commodities they make are cheaper as well. So in the US, where we can't make quite so dirt cheap oil, our commodities are comparatively more expensive with an ever shrinking margin of profitability. Dropping oil prices will kill the producers of all US commodities.
