BTC is averaging just under half the daily transactions in peak December 2017. The reason why the transaction fees were so high back then was because not every exchange/wallet supported segwit. Exchanges were focusing on maintaining operations from the massive influx of users rather than upgrading and innovating. Now that systems are caught up, we can finally see Bcash die. The bull has been prepped. Long live Sminem.
