White market payment processors are KYC-friendly third parties and are beholden to the laws of the land. They exist only because the State lets them exist....for now.

Black/grey market P2P transacting is the only truly permissionless and therefore meaningful metric of crypto adoption. Hell, the entire POINT of crypto is to get rid of 3rd parties and deal direct!

So Monero survives in the long run since its use in the underground shadow economy can't be legislated away.
