Depending on the inputs to the smart contract,
it is imperative that the smart contract is not corrupted by “fake data”

Suppliers would have plenty of incentive to trick the OEM into over-buying components.

Wall Street short sellers would also have billions of reasons to tank the stock by interfering with and/or sabotaging the OEM smart contract.

Banking and financial industries are already plagued by fake data, with the potential for catastrophe rising as automation increases.
If the oracle is compromised, so is the entire contract.

I've been convinced for over a year.
The breadcrumbs bore me. I'm a believer.
The larps have grown stale. I'm bored.

But one questions remains for me; wtf is delphi? Who the fuck is out there staffing a chainlink OC factory? I can't wait for this part of the story to be concluded. Bunch of weirdos who made it off of ETH? Did Sergey spend $100k for a marketing team?

At the root of nearly every piece of Link FUD is one base sentiment:

"You loser NEETs and your NEET software will never amount to anything. The system will chug along just fine without you, go die in a hole."

People are threatened by Link because they're threatened by the prospect of NEETs gaining wealth and status over them.

ZKP is just a proof that something happened on the network without releasing details, which like in the case of Zcash is how they do or are trying to do private transactions. ZKP is to show the work of the node without releasing the details, but the node can still see the details it did if not using a TEE. While in a TEE the node can't see anything and signs its data with a remote attestation. It could also send a ZKP back to the chain as its response. The advantage of a zkp that it's response on-chain to the public are basically encrypted because it returns a proof instead of the details.

This would make public chains more accessible to big businesses with sensitive data. And the TEEs advantage is that it keeps the node in the dark on the query it is solving.

"Think of it this way, who is going to be operating nodes on a permissioned chain?

It will likely be a somewhat inhouse job, so it would be for inhouse tasks.

Contracts that are actually valuable or require security between parties will be on the public ledger. The higher thr risk, the greater the security premium"

If you have been following Pivitol, you would have noticed that the critical job "aggregate oracle answers" has been moved to the current iteration where it remains, untouched, weeks ago.

Why you ask? Why fast-track this story and then not work on it?

It's because Sergey made a miscalculation. He wanted to get big players invested in the system before launch. He has been building the system catering to their needs, desires, and suggestions...going so far as to contract much of the work to their active employees. This collaboration worked, until the critical moment: basic aggregation. The aggregation protocol at the base of the chainlink network will have dramatic impact on the system going forward. They set the baseline statistics to use when maintaining reputation. If there are two working protocols to collect data and one protocol favors the current setup of a company's capabilities then that company will try to include it in the release and rival companies will counter their proposal. Two companies have been inspired by the recent hash wars and are trying to use their corporate weight to push one version of aggregation over the other. They are trying to set up the rules so that they have a competitive advantage over their collaborators.

Basic aggregation is at a standstill because of political infighting. Is is Toyota and Tesla fighting over control of the future insurance and IoT data sales? Is it IBM and Microsoft trying to tip the scale so that their preferred type of software delivery protocol is favored? Is it Docusign and Adobe? SWIFT and Fintech?

DEAR NEW CHAINLINK INVESTORS

There ia a lot Fud again around this industry standart project. The reason is that someone or group of people want to buy cheap link tokens. This is actually bullish sign.

Fear, uncertainty and doubt (often shortened to FUD) is a disinformation strategy used in sales, marketing, public relations, politics, cults, and propaganda. FUD is generally a strategy to influence perception by disseminating negative and dubious or false information and a manifestation of the appeal to fear.

Chainlink

if you think about network effect aka metcalfes law, is bigger than BTC and ETH. It serves all blockchains, serves FIAT smart contracts and the whole fuckin PSD2 SWIFT thing. Network effect means that the value grows exponentially with networking partners so for link like, more APIs connected and more smart contract platforms= more value for the network. So it's really actually going to be bigger than ETH and BTC IF it becomes the standard which is highly likely with how the things are looking right now.

So lets say in the next bullrun, BTC and ETH drag the total marketcap above 10 trillions, which is a merely x10 from last peak and totally conversative, and LINK is taking place ONLY under BTC and ETH somewhere in the top 5, it's value would be minimum x1000 from here. ETH saw that too in 2 years and CL would have, if it works, a bigger network effect. And let me tell you, metcalfes law applies to BTC and ETH very well. I think it was like over 90% congruent the last 2 years
