i dont see why L1 tokens are even needed. fiats work because they can enforce themselves with laws but it doesnt make sense in a decentralized context. icp is actually one of the least foolish tokenomics in this regard, since it pays for actually useful computations. projects like https://github.com/Kindelia/Kindelia are interesting as they allow dapps to directly pay miners with their own tokens.

we could try but i think it will always end up in a power law where 20% of actors determines 80% of consequences. probably related to how competitive advantages can always be exploited in a positive feedback loop. pushing this further does seem to improve things so maybe its not useless
