Well sometimes. Stop loss orders are the one fiddly bit I haven't decided on a solution to as yet. Going back to testing, they're about coin flip on whether they improve or weaken the performance of my trades. Main issue is the ^ shaped reversal. If I get the ^ pattern, stop loss wins every time. If it's any other kind of reversal, just letting my indicators work their wizardry gives better exit.
