Wait, hold on a second, retard.
If you don't care about validating other people's transactions.... Then why don't you just use BSV kek

it's faster, better, easier , cheaper and more secure than LN and all on-chain. It's just Bitcoin that works. Satoshi approved.

Here’s one last way: cheat. Offer a ‘compromise’ that will lower transaction costs without raising the block size. Tell them it will solve Bitcoin’s scaling problems. You know it won’t. You know it’s just a stepping stone to your real plan. But they’re desperate for a solution and are going to take anything you offer.

To get everyone to agree to this compromise, offer a small block size increase in return. When they give you what they want, back out of the deal. You already know the playbook. Attack the character and competence of everyone with whom you made the deal. They are ‘enemies of Bitcoin.’ They are ‘scammers.’ Code is law.

Bitcoin is almost yours.

Now offer your solution to the problems in Bitcoin that you created. Bitcoin CAN scale, but only with the help of your company, which stands to make a fortune, and only off-chain on a second layer. Fees will be so high they will have to use your product. Only large institutions—regulated central banks of sorts that are probably owned by you—will be able to afford to transact on-chain.

But keep quiet about that last bit. People might not like that. They might ask why it was important to limit the block size so that everyone could run a node when nobody was going to transact on-chain anyways. They might ask how this is different from the system Bitcoin was meant to change. You don’t want this.

Tell them the solution will come in 18 months. Extend the deadline indefinitely. People who no longer think Bitcoin is about payments won’t mind waiting as long as you want them to wait.

fun fact: When Satoshi sent adam back a copy of the prerelease of the whitepaper in August 2008 adam not only never got back but didn't remember bitcoin until mt/ gox time in 2013 and even then, Adam was super critical of Bitcoin until it was already over $1000, at which point he realized that there might be a way he could cash in on the fact that one of his old, shitty papers was referenced by Satoshi's whitepaper.

1 If Blockstream had to found Bitcoin on its own merits of high fees thanks to artificial congestion for a market fee and no 0-conf, it wouldn't go past the ico stage
2 Blockstream took over a growing, established, disruptive coin with 96% dominance and trashed it down to 32%
3 Number of tx's constantly going down, now to 1-2 years ago level, from $50,000/block reward* at the beginning of the year down to a silent $2,914/block today (for the noncoiners: reward is important for hashpower)
4 If the plan was to get high fees to drive users to their lightning network, why did they drive them off before LN was ready to receive them??? This neglegience is unforgivable.

Now who are the people who still are buying this virtual monopoly money?

I predicted it, was surprised by how high we went though.
Still managed to kindof sell the top. Averaged out 13 - 17k.

My take is that we are in a phase similar to the one between the 2 bubbles in 2013. Sideways few months before massive bullrun this summer.

IMPRTANT: wen I say bullrun I mean total crypto marketcap. Its very possible BTC will be flipped before the next bubblecycle.

t. held from 2013 till december 2017

How can people invest in BTC? Its hope lays in the LN. It's so silly ppl can't see it will launch to half dozen cryptocurrencies, BCH included, if it ever comes to fruition and works. So BTC has zero unique and/or serious roadmap, it is simply THE MOST EXPENSIVE ICO in history.
Now since they have nothing, they keep embarrassing themselves by launching c-lightning to sell stickers in blockstream store and even that makes some people lose funds...
It is a project ran by clowns and so many fools still support it.

>Soft forks are better because they don't enforce changes, reduce risks of lack of consensus and community fracturing
>OMFG LYNCH COINBASE, THEY AREN'T FOLLOWING OUR SOFT FORK

I have a question: when Blockstream softforked BTC, how was it ruled the changes they made were the best? People didn't have to upgrade so the old rules applied. If you soft fork, then any additional consensus rules in that fork are optional. If you want mandatory changes, that's what a hard for is for.

-Cripple BTC -> need for LN
-Deploy LN
-Use BTC brand to push payment/merch systems move to LN
-Network effect and 1st mover adv. moved to LN
-BTC stripped of value
-Add coins as LN settlement (in progress): LTC, VTC, etc.
-BTC 2020 price: $0

'LN ready' coins at Blockstream's initiative (inc. Segwit), will join BTC in the pool of LN settlement tokens:

GRS
SYS
BTX
DGB
MON
LTC
VTC
NAV
VIA
CRE
XMY

From 21 million to 24 BILLION coins, all INDISTINGUISHABLE as 'LN store of value tokens'. Impact on price?..
