Is there something like Robin Hood for Canadians? I saved up $10k USD over a few years (RSUs from work that I just opted to get USD cheques for so I didn't convert them) and I wanted to open up an Investment Brokers account. But then I lost interest and didn't do anything with the money for awhile. Now I want to pick it back up.

This is money for me to "play" with and learn about the stock market with. I'm a little antsy with losing it all because I'm a doomer and think we're all headed for some crazy happening but its okay because I have a years worth of living expenses in cash and everything else invested in low to medium risk bonds and index funds.

So yeah, should I restart the IB application process? I remember you need to download their trading app and do a few fake trades to understand it... or is there a better thing for a newbie like me to get started with (again I'm Canadian if it matters).
